Nightmare descent into fear and fascism

If America's history were an episode of "E! True Hollywood Story" or "VH1: Behind The Music", the Bush years would inevitably be analogous to the "nightmare descent into booze & drugs," before checking in to the Betty Ford Clinic and getting off the drugs and high on life.

EDIT: And this was even before I found out Bush bypassed Congress to appoint Bolton as our UN guy, and blames it on the Democrats. Yep, Bush sure is just reaching right across that aisle and mending our deeply divided country, isn't he.

I seem to be in the minority when I say that I loved the Prince sketch more than the Rick James sketch.

I can't believe you just said that. That quote has been running through my head for the last two days.

I would probably put the Prince and Rick James sketches about even. Chappelle's imitations of Prince's noises... the slam dunk... the pancakes... genius.

But still... I keep thinking of some scene from the Rick James one and laugh my ass off... "CHARLIE MURPHY! *pop*"

Aaaaand... LiveJournal quickreply commenting fucks up again, first overescaping my reply, then posting it as a new comment thread instead of a reply to you. I don't suppose you know to whom I'd report it, and have the slightest hope anything would get done about it, do you? I discovered a particular change made a few days ago that probably caused it, but now what? Maybe commenting there will do some good...
